About this ministry

Amy Jo Garner
Amy Jo Garner Ministries via the Virtual Hermitary is the writing and research ministry of Amy Jo Garner. Amy Jo Garner Ministries/Virtual Hermitary is an unincorporated, not-for-profit religious association. The ministry does not own any property or employ any staff. At this time, its sole expenses are annual hosting fees and the yearly post office box rental. These expenses are paid personally by Amy and her ministry partners.
Amy Jo Garner is a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University with a Master of Arts degree in Religion with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. Amy Jo is a member of Christians for Biblical Equality, the American Academy of Religion and Christian Women United in Business. She lives a relatively secluded life as a freelance writer/editor. Before answering the call to a life of ministry, she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in English and a MA in Journalism. Her prior career includes work in the banking and aerospace industries and as a teacher and career counselor at a small college. Amy is a working, tax-paying citizen and does not take any financial gain from this ministry.

Celtic Crosses
She strives to live a life of voluntary simplicity – gardening and tending to her chickens and other animals. Although she’s not a hermit, she limits her social life to a few close friends and family, preferring to spend her days listening, observing, writing and painting. As near as she can tell, God is most easily found in the simple, quiet moments of life. She worships at the historic
St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Oklahoma City.
